Staying
at Onse Rus for more than two days? Guests are invited to take a
short drive towards Meiringspoort to walk on Vrisch Gewaagt and
meet our horses.
The
Karoo
Country House at Vrisch Gewaagt
Vrisch Gewaagt is a working farm - the old Victorian farm house is
beautifully furnished and restored with 4 en suite bedrooms, open
plan lounge /dining room and a separate guest toilet, yellow wood
and oregan pine through out the house and large wide veranda with
views over the Olive groves with our five horses, Max – Toffee
– Bonnie – Celistino and Sultana.
We
are situated on 1800 hectares of Karoo
landscape with the Swartberg as a majestic backdrop. Explore the
incredible space with a 4 x 4 or walk the hiking trails deep into
the kloofs discovering the Black pools where you can go fly-fishing
(you would need to bring your own rods). Relax at the swimming pool
with its incredible views of the Swartberg or sit awhile at the bird
hide at the reed dam. A crystal clear river runs through the farm
where there are sandy beaches and pools where you can cool off after a
hike.
Take
time out to see a large number of tortoises feeding in the shade
of the old willow trees or spot kudu, bush buck or grysbok.
In
the evening dinner is served under a magnificent sky where you
feel as if you can reach out and touch the stars.
Our
rates are R950.00 per person sharing per night
These
rates include:

full farm style breakfast served on the front veranda

three course Dinner with complimentary locally produced wine

selection of teas and home made cake of the day served on
arrival
- Early
morning tea or coffee is delivered to the room prior to
